MPower Women in STEM Scholarship for International Students 2024

To address inequality in education and recognize the extraordinary potential of women in the sciences, MPower Financing has created the MPower Women in STEM Scholarship. You don’t have to be an MPower borrower to apply for this scholarship; all you need to do is meet the eligibility criteria.

As stated in MPower’s mission and vision, they are committed to empowering high-potential global citizens to realize their educational aspirations, helping them become tomorrow’s leading scientists and innovators in their respective fields.

If you’re a woman looking to complete your STEM degree to benefit society and the planet, then this scholarship program is for you. You must also have the potential to serve as a role model and advocate for women in STEM.


  1. Each year, the scholarships are awarded to female international and DACA students. To qualify, students must either be enrolled in or have been accepted to a full-time STEM degree program. In addition, the institution they are enrolled in should be in the United States or Canada and be an MPOWER-supported institution.
  2. In addition, this scholarship is specifically for international and DACA students. Therefore, U.S. citizens studying in the U.S. and Canadian citizens studying in Canada are not eligible.

Benefits of MPower Financing Women in STEM Scholarship

Successful applicants will receive the following awards:

  • Grand Prize: US$6,000
  • Runner-Up: US$2,000
  • Honorable Mention: US$1,000

Requirements for MPower Financing Women in STEM Scholarship

  1. International Student Status: The first and very important eligibility requirement is that you should be an international student legally allowed to study in the U.S. or Canada.
  2. Enrollment: In addition to the first requirements, you should also be accepted into or enrolled in a full-time degree program at a U.S. or Canadian school supported by MPOWER.

If you meet the above eligibility requirements, please review the regional requirements below:

For study in the U.S.:

  • Have a valid visa that permits study in the U.S.
  • Be protected under the Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals (DACA).
  • Be a U.S. permanent resident (Green Card holder).

For study in Canada:

  • Be a Canadian permanent resident.
  • Have a valid Canadian study permit.
