What Does NDDC Postgraduate Scholarship Cover?

If you’re looking to apply for this scholarship, then the first thing you should know is that this is a fully funded programme. That means it will cover your:

Courses Needed To Be Eligible Candidate

To be a suitable and qualified applicant for the NDDC postgraduate scholarship, you will need to have a relevant bachelor’s degree. The degree should be from a recognized university and be the following professional disciplines (courses):

  • Law
  • Agricultural Sciences
  • Engineering
  • Engineering Sciences
  • Medical Sciences
  • Geosciences
  • Information Technology

Requirements for 2024/25 NDDC Postgraduate Scholarship

The DDC Postgraduate Scholarship requirements are as follows:

  1. You should hold a first degree with a minimum of 2nd Class Lower Division from a recognized University if you are looking to take a Master’s Degree programme. But for those with a Master’s Degree looking to advance to a PhD, you should hold a strong Master’s Degree.
  2. To be eligible, you need to have gained a degree in any of the abovementioned disciplines to be considered for admission to a postgraduate programme at a foreign university.
  3. You should not have prior enrolment in an Overseas University; otherwise, your application will be immediately rejected.
  4. You must have completed the National Youth Service (NYSC), which is mandatory.
  5. You should have a clean criminal record without evidence of cult membership or criminal activity.
  6. As a seal of approval, you will need to obtain a Guarantor’s written consent showing you have good conduct. Remember, the consent should be from a reputable individual within your community/clan, such as: a First Class Traditional Ruler, High Court Judge, Member of the National Assembly/State House of Assembly, or a Chairman of the LGA
  7. Finally, you need to be a native of one of the Niger Delta states in Nigeria, including:
  • Delta State
  • Akwa Ibom State
  • Edo State
  • Bayelsa State
  • Cross River State
  • Rivers State

  1. All successful candidates will be announced and shortlisted on
  2. If you are part of the NDDC’s shortlisted candidates, you will be required to take part in a Computer-Based Test (CBP)
  3. The NDDC will not communicate with candidates who are not shortlisted for CBT, are not invited to oral interviews, and are not successful during oral interviews.
  4. If you’re from an oil-producing community or area, you will be given preference as long as you meet the approved cut-off mark.
  5. Once admitted, you will not be permitted to either differ from or change institutions.
