Afara Initiative Bridge Fellowship Program is Nigeria’s most selective and prestigious leadership fellowship dedicated to nurturing tomorrow’s leaders. This initiative aims to identify and develop change-makers that will help enhance Nigeria’s leadership prowess across diverse sectors.

It uses highly selective criteria that begin with a four-week intensive boot camp to find suitable candidates. The Bootcamp is followed by a lifetime of training, mentorship, access to resources, and opportunities, facilitating a pathway to impactful leadership.

The Afara fellowship program targets young leaders who are in their first or second years in university. In addition, it only provides 150 slots for exceptionally promising individuals this year.

Application Process

To ensure that Afara does a proper vetting process, each applicant must undergo three rounds of tests.

  • Round 1: This will be about filling out the application form and providing basic information about yourself, such as academic and career details. If you pass this round, you will proceed to the next round.
  • Round 2: This is a Video submission stage where you will be given three questions with limits to explain on video. This is to help you understand your passions, energy, motivation, and personality.
  • Round 3: This is the final stage, where you will have to interact with the Afara Bridge Fellowship admission team (interview panel) for final vetting.
